News Release: CVRD Files Environmental Appeal Board Stay Application

cvrd-logoDuncan, BC – The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) has filed an application to the Environmental Appeal Board for a "stay" to stop South Island Aggregates (SIA) from beginning work on a contaminated soil remediation facility and landfill that was recently approved by the BC Ministry of Environment. "We are asking the Environmental Appeal Board to issue a stay to prevent SIA from doing any contaminated soil work until such time as the Appeal Board has heard the appeal and rendered a decision," said Rob Hutchins, CVRD Board Chair.
