On Wednesday, the 4th of November, The SRA, through its legal team, is filing another Notice of Application in BC Supreme Court. The primary request with this application is that a stay of the permit be granted pending the results of a complete judicial review.
As the community knows, this has been a long and difficult battle to protect the area from dangerous exploitation of the watershed.
After what seemed like a long summer of inactivity, with not a lot of news to report, the work of the SRA legal team is again before the courts.
A parallel action, dealing with the contaminated soil dump issue, involving the CVRD and the Provincial government, is also before the courts.
As always, the SRA action is very expensive and we are asking everyone in Shawnigan and the CVRD to contribute again to the legal fund. You can donate with your credit card on this site.
More details will be reported at the Thursday, Nov. 19th Annual General Meeting.
