At our most recent Youbou Community Association general meeting, a motion was passed asking me to contact your fine organization and offer our full support further to the challenges you are facing in maintaining a healthy watershed. My goodness, in this day of drought, water shortages and all the rest surely our most senior governments have to get their collective heads out of the sludge and realize what our water represents. The ‘approval’ in dumping contaminated soil does not pass the sniff test.
The concern with this should alarm us all—if they can do it to you folks, they most assuredly could do it to us. We know you are very proud and protective of your wonderful lake and area. We are similarly proud of our gorgeous part of the world. People need to be vigilant and ready to act when nonsensical decisions are visited upon us.
We want to applaud and congratulate you on your fortitude and commitment. Good luck to you moving forward. If we can assist in any way, however small, please contact me and we will do our level best to help. Take care,
Larry Leischner, Secretary
