Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is pleased to announce the hiring of a Chief Administrative Officer effective September 2, 2014.

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is pleased to announce the hiring of Brian Carruthers as Chief Administrative Officer effective September 2, 2014. The Chief Administrative Officer directs the overall planning, coordinating and control of all regional services in accordance with the objectives, goals and policies approved by the Chair and Board of Directors.
Mr. Carruthers is presently the Chief Administrative Officer for the Regional District of Central Kootenay, and prior to that held the equivalent position with the City of Williams Lake. In addition to his thirteen years in local at government at the executive and senior management level his career prior to moving to local government included thirteen years in a variety of management roles with the Parks and Protected Areas Division of the BC Ministry of Environment (BC Parks). "Mr. Carruthers is a respected, capable, and accomplished leader with a demonstrated record of effective local government experience," stated CVRD Chair Rob Hutchins.
"I am delighted to be returning home to the Island and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and staff in serving the residents and stakeholders of the Cowichan Valley Regional District", states Brian Carruthers.
