The lawyer for the Shawnigan Residents Association says their case against the permit granted to South Island Aggregates will be based on scientific evidence.
The Environmental Appeal Board hearing into the permit granted by the province of BC is set to begin today (Monday).
The Association is just one of the parties opposing the permit which allows South Island Aggregates to dump contaminated soil on a parcel of land near Shawnigan Lake.
The hearing is scheduled to run until April 4th.
